About the Council
The MATP Advisory Council supports Michigan's AT Act Program. The council is advisory in nature (not a governing board) and is managed by the implementing entity, Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, Michigan Assistive Technology Program.
Key Features
- Person with Disabilities Majority: At least 51% of members must be individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology
- The AT Act specifically mandates representation from certain agencies and organizations. ( Agency representatives who have disabilities cannot be "double-counted" toward the consumer majority requirement)
- Reflects the diversity of Michigan residents who use assistive technology

- Acts as ambassadors for the AT Act Program

- Supports policies that promote assistive technology access
- Advises on the State Plan for Assistive Technology
